The Establishment of The American Aeronautics Technical Academy (AATA), Los Angeles

John Stewart, Founder and Executive Director of AATA, has trained Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians for companies such as SpaceX and Northrop Grumman for over a decade. His expertise and training skills are in high demand from aerospace companies around the globe. Upon learning of the lack of skilled training available to men and women in Los Angeles, John became determined to establish the American Aeronautics Technical Academy (AATA) to mitigate the underemployment condition of young people and veterans in Los Angeles. Mr. Stewart is convinced that many of the social ills in cities can be eliminated when people are better prepared to participate in the workforce.

AATA mainly considers underrepresented populations including displaced veterans, women and minorities. It aims to provide NDT training to at-risk young men, women and veterans that provides both the knowledge and hands-on practical experience needed by NDT personnel to succeed in the industry.

The American Aeronautics Technical Academy has garnered the support of aerospace captains of industry, engineers, elected officials, and academics to serve as advisers and hands-on support to ensure a successful roll-out of the academy.
